Tara Baxter Yarkey began her career as a certified massage therapist employed by a small day spa. Soon after, she went into private practice and worked on such clients as Dave Matthews, Stephan Lessard and, producers, engineers and other employees of The Dave Matthews Band. This experience served to launch Tara s career as a spa owner when she purchased Victoria s Day.
Spa in 2000.Soon she set her sights on cosmetic tattooing and began to research schools around the country. After an expensive and unfortunate experience at an inferior school's, Tara studied with John Hashey in Oldsmar, Florida. She also attended the first CCTA convention in San Antonio. Her career as a cosmetic tattoo artist took off, and she has developed a trustworthy reputation in her community as honest, ethical & talented.In 2004 Tara became a class A contractor and designed & built her house with her husband. She went on to build 2 spec homes and a new location for Victoria s Day Spa. Furthermore, in 2004, Tara and her husband started fostering children through social services. Within six months Tara and her husband had three children in their home, aged 1, 7 and 14. After a year and a half, these children were all officially adopted. Tara is a visionary who believes that each one of us can make a difference in our community, our profession or our world.
